Meet your future Midwife

Welcome! I’m Ashley—a licensed midwife, lactation counselor, and birth worker with over a decade of experience. I’ve had the honor of supporting hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I’m thrilled to share my passion with each new family I meet.

From a young age, I knew I was drawn to birth work, initially imagining a path in medicine. Over time, though, I realized my calling was about more than simply "catching babies"—I wanted to provide individualized, supportive, holistic care to mothers throughout their journeys. This curiosity led me to explore the human body deeply, earning an AS in Human Biology from National University. However, it wasn’t until I became a doula that I truly discovered my calling in midwifery. Later, I completed my AS in Midwifery from the National College of Midwifery, and I am now a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and a Licensed Midwife (LM) through the Medical Board of California.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of welcoming my own six children and supporting other families as a gestational surrogate, bringing ten babies into the world. My journey has included unique experiences, like twins and a breech birth, each deepening my commitment to this work. These personal experiences, especially my empowering home births, have profoundly shaped my approach to midwifery and my dedication to supporting each family with compassion and respect through their unique birthing journey.

My experience spans a variety of birth settings, including working as a birth assistant and student midwife in a birth center, as an apprentice in a home birth practice, and as a doula in both hospitals and home births. I bring this well-rounded experience to every birth, valuing each family’s needs and honoring the natural birth process.

When I’m not attending births, I love spending time with my husband of 17 years, our six kids, and our two Great Danes. We enjoy cooking and baking together, watching movies, playing board games, and exploring our local community. Born and raised in North San Diego, I met my husband just after high school, and we later spent over eight years in Mexico before returning to San Diego. Each day, I am grateful to serve my community, providing compassionate, personalized care to families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
